Through my grandmother's eyes, I had the privilege of plunging into the heart of my Abenaki origins. She was more than just a guardian of our roots; she was a proud representative of the Abenaki people. She opened doors for me to the values of our culture in relation to the land and the spiritual connection to nature.

 

My grandmother passed on to me a burning desire to immerse myself further in my Abenaki roots. She taught me that discovering our origins is not limited to a specific moment in time, but is an ongoing journey, a quest for knowledge and understanding.

 

Through her, I discovered the love she had for this unique culture and her desire to continue embracing our Abenaki origins, celebrating them and passing them on to future generations. I am aware that this quest to learn more about my roots will never end, as each day brings new discoveries and a deeper understanding of who the Abenaki people are. It's a heritage I will always cherish, just as I will cherish my grandmother and her priceless place in my heart.
